My name is Emily Fisher. I graduated from Virginia Tech from the English department. Before graduating, my best friend, Nima Trivedi and I agreed that we wanted to leave a legacy at Virginia Tech. We established CreativiTea, the only creative writing club at Virginia Tech, with the intent to create a writing club that would last. Writing clubs have come and gone at Virginia Tech, so our vision was to create a community that would last beyond our time so that writers of future generations have a space to create and collaborate with fellow writers. Our other main goal was to establish a writing community that was welcoming to all. Of the five initial founders, three were English majors, one was Neuroscience, and the other was Business (Marketing and Finance). Our goal was to create an inclusive space for writers of all backgrounds and skill levels regardless of their majors.
