This Week's Challenge
According to Wikipedia, “A whodunit is a complex, plot-driven variety of a detective story in which the puzzle regarding who committed the crime is the main focus. The reader or viewer is provided with the clues from which the identity of the perpetrator may be deduced before the story provides the revelation itself at its climax.” Some important parts of a whodunit are the crime, the sleuth and the villian, the cludes and red herrings, and the big reveal.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
-
MURDER MYSTERY: Romantic relationship gone very wrong, “tragic accident”, hired hitman, inspired by “Clue”, etc.
-
BURGLAR MYSTERY: A piece from a museum, something carefully guarded, someone’s wedding ring/something emotionally charged, etc.
-
NON-TRADITIONAL/SUPERNATURAL MYSTERY: A ghost or spirit witnesses a crime, crime against a mythical creature, murders committed using supernatural abilities, etc.
