Ballads
Ballads are a form of narrative voice that can either be poetic or musical. If you love music, this is a great chance to compose, and if you are more into narrative writing, flex your story skills. Ballads tell a story that is emotionally evocative and dramatic. They have an abcb rhyme scheme and are written in quatrains. The meter is often Iambic Pentameter, but anything consistent works.
To get started: choose your topic, choose your tone, use rhyme and meter as useful tools, and let the story guide you. Most importantly, have fun!
